EmoteStats v2.0: Discord Emoji Stats Bot Relaunch

I’m very excited to finally announce the return of EmoteStats!

For those new here, EmoteStats started out as a project between friends to figure out one simple thing: what emotes are actually getting used so we can remove some for new ones! From there it really grew and at its height served millions of users across thousands of communities.

What’s New?

The web dashboard has been rebuilt from the ground up, and we’ve replaced the old prefix commands with all-new slash commands. You can explore your server’s emotes right from Discord with:

  • /top and /bottom rank your most and least used emotes.
  • /unused finds emotes with no recorded use.
  • /graph shows emote usage over time.
  • /dashboard links your server’s public dashboard.

About the Dashboard

The defining feature of EmoteStats has always been the stat dashboard that every server gets. These dashboards have been completely revamped! New charts, new controls and filters, and we now show up to 90 days of recorded activity, up from the original 30.

We also gave the website itself a complete revamp! For a little history to see where we started check out the web archive. We’ve also taken this as an opportunity to upgrade from emotestats.net to emotestats.gg, really fitting in with the gamer community feel.

Getting Started

Simply add the bot to your server and let it start tracking emote activity. Make sure it can see the channels you want included, then let the time pass. Run /help for a list of commands, or /ping to check that it’s responding.

Everyone is starting fresh. No stats from the original bot carried over, and EmoteStats won’t scan older messages. Tracking begins after it joins your server, so give your community a little time to build up some activity. As more comes in, the charts and rankings will give you a better picture of which emotes your server uses.

What’s Next?

You can follow what’s coming on our Roadmap, or join the Support Server to stay up-to-date or give us feedback! We always welcome new ideas and love hearing how you use the bot for your community.

To everyone who stayed in the server all these years or kept the (now deleted) bot around, a huge thank you! Sincere apologies for leaving everyone in the dark but I hope this can help make up for it.

Thanks for reading and until next time!
